- Accumulator
- A single bet that links multiple selections together; all must win for the bet to pay out.
- Arbitrage
- Exploiting differing odds across bookmakers to guarantee a profit regardless of which selection wins.
- Asian Handicap
- A spread betting system that gives one team a virtual advantage or disadvantage to level the playing field.
- Banker Bet
- A highly confident selection included in multiple bets to increase potential returns, considered almost certain to win.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money a bettor sets aside exclusively for placing bets.
- Cash Out
- A feature allowing you to settle a bet before the event concludes, locking in a profit or limiting losses.
- Double Chance
- A bet covering two of three possible match outcomes, increasing your chance of winning.
- Draw No Bet
- A bet where you back a team to win; if the match ends in a draw, your stake is refunded.
- Each-Way
- Two bets in one: one on the selection to win and one on it to place, usually with reduced odds for the place portion.
- Evens
- Odds of 2.0, meaning you double your stake if your bet wins.
- Half Time/Full Time
- A bet predicting both the correct score at halftime and the correct score at the end of the match.
- In-Play Betting
- Bets placed after an event has started, with odds that update in real time as the action unfolds.
- Juice
- The commission or fee built into odds that a bookmaker charges for taking your bet.
- Kelly Criterion
- A mathematical formula used to determine the optimal size of a bet relative to your perceived edge.
- Lay Bet
- Betting that an outcome will NOT happen, acting as the bookmaker yourself against other bettors.
- Matched Betting
- Using free bets and promotions strategically to guarantee a profit regardless of the result.
- Odds
- The price or multiplier that determines how much you can win relative to your stake.
- Over/Under
- Betting on whether a specific statistic will be over or under a set number chosen by the bookmaker.
- Parlay
- An American term for an accumulator; one bet with multiple legs that only pays if all selections win.
- Spread Betting
- A form of betting where winnings or losses are determined by how right or wrong you are about the margin of victory.
- Stake
- The amount of money you risk on a particular bet.
- Value Bet
- A bet where you believe the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome occurring.
- Void Bet
- A bet that is cancelled, with all stakes returned to the bettor as if the wager never occurred.
- Wagering Requirement
- Conditions stating how many times you must bet a bonus amount before withdrawing any winnings from it.
- Yankee Bet
- Four selections creating 11 separate bets: six doubles, four trebles, and one four-fold accumulator.
